A few weeks ago, I had the opportunity to go to a Fall Preview Event at Brooks Running. I got to preview the fall fashion collection at the Trailhead store where we got to meet the design team and tour the corporate office! This Pacific Northwest-based company knows what we need in terms of style, comfort and fit for people that are active, particularly runners, in the PNW. I definitely wouldn’t call myself a “runner” by any stretch of means but have gotten into running short 5k races in the past few years (UW Bothell Husky 5k and Beat the Bridge). It’s been a fun activity for the family and something we plan on doing with our kids annually. So when we were asked to try on items from the fall fashion collection and pick a couple items to take home with us, I was SO excited! Here are a couple things I tried on:
I knew right when I tried on these capris, they would be coming home with me. The wide, flat waistband was the selling point as I hate it when waistbands are so tight that it creates the sausage effect…NOT a pretty look! It has a center back pocket to hold your key, cash, ID without it getting in the way. The ombre design also makes color matching easy to get lots of different looks within the color categories. The capris are unfortunately sold out online but this tank is still available! I loved the fitted racerback design and the moisture-wicking DriLayer technology made this tank super comfortable. Unfortunately I had to pass on this as it was too long for a shorty like me but would highly recommend for anyone taller than 5’2″!
This sports bra was a definite winner! It was very similar to the Big Shot sports bra from Title Nine but I LOVED the colorblock design of this one. Again, wide straps = doesn’t dig into your shoulders. Functional yet still stylish!
For those of you interested in the shoes – which is what Brooks is most well known for – check out their fall line. They have a TON of new designs in lots of fun colors!
They also have the Heritage Shoes which is their old school designs. I personally love the look of old school designs making a comeback in various fashion trends (i.e. old school Mariners logo!). Tried on the periwinkle and black ones on the top right and love the slim fit of the shoe (my feet looked pretty and if you know me, I HATE feet and they definitely are NOT pretty!).
Thanks Brooks Running and Brooks Trailhead for hosting such a fun event and can’t wait to see more of your fall line! A special thanks to Tiffany for the invitation and Sydney for organizing such a great event!
